Dr. Whipple is a native Hoosier who grew up on the northwest side of Indianapolis, where he graduated from Pike High School. He attended Indiana University, graduating with highest distinction with a double major in biology and chemistry. While at Indiana, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
